1000 Mile Journeys Introduction Weekends

We only run  few unique challenging Expeditions each year which are all in the most challenging and remote areas of the World. As well as having long phone call discussions with out potential Expedition Team members we also try to meet everyone in person prior to a Expedition. For our more serious Expeditions we include a two week training expedition 6-12 month before the big one.

However, due to feed back where many off you have expressed a wish to get to know us and hear more about our challenges and expeditions and what is involved. We especially get lots of questions around the physical nature of our journeys.

Therefore we have decided to run 1000 Mile Journeys intro weekends at various locations around the UK and overseas.

These weekends will be two day events where we will walk and talk, or cycle and talk. or paddle and talk! Basically you get to meet us and us you and ask as many questions as you want of us. We are there of course to help and advise on the mental and physical preparation that you should undertake prior to a expedition.

There is no charge or cost to these weekends apart from your own personal costs. Each weekend will be hosted by one of our guides for the two days. Depending on location and time of year we may camp or use bunkhouses etc.

We will host the weekends for groups of 4-12 with one guide and two guides if up to 20 are interested.

Locations and hosts will be

The South West of England, The South East of England and South Wales hosted by Dan Biddle

The North of England , North Wales, Lake District hosted by Luca Alfatti

Scotland and Ireland hosted by Stewart Richardson

International hosted by Peter Syme

1000 Mile Journeys creator Peter Syme will also attend these weekends when he is in the UK.

Dates

We aim to have one weekend meet per month but it will depend on demand. We will use Facebook Groups and messenger to organise the weekends.

We all look forward to meeting you for a couple of days of getting to know each other
